This group is co-ordinated by a collective of local women, who
are passionate about supporting families interested in making
informed, empowering birthing choices.
We aim to:
-
Provide information and support for
people who wish to learn about homebirth
-
Assist these families practically
and emotionally
-
Increase public awareness of the
homebirth option
Our support & resources:
-
The families of our collective are willing to share their
many different pregnancy, labour, birth and parenting
experiences.
-
We run a roster that supports new
families by dropping off meals & baking and helping out with
housework during the newborn period.
-
We maintain a library that includes
an extensive range of “positive-birth” journals published by
nationwide homebirth groups, a copy of “the pink kit”, a
homeopathic birth kit. The library is made available to
families who are not necessarily planning a homebirth but
wish to read positive, can-do material written about normal
birth.
-
We run a baby / toddler / maternity
clothing and equipment exchange.
-
We can provide access to birth
pools.
